Leroy Merlin may build hypermarket worth 1.5 bln rubles in Orel
OREL. Nov 9 (Interfax) - French DIY retailer Leroy Merlin is considering the possibility of building a hypermarket in Orel, the regional administration said in a statement on its website following a meeting between regional governor Andrei Klychkov and director of projects for Leroy Merlin's Russian division Alexei Sinektutov.
Investment in the construction of a hypermarket may total 1.5 billion rubles, the retailer said. The project will create some 200 jobs.
"We must now resolve a number of routine questions related to the implementation of the stated initiative," Sinektutov said.
Leroy Merlin is an international retailer specializing on the sale of goods for construction, finishing and outfitting of homes, dachas and gardens. There are 89 Leroy Merlin locations in 44 Russian cities, according to the retailer's website.
