New govt formed in Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Dagestan head Vladimir Vasilyev presented the new government on Friday, the press service for the administration of Dagestan's leader and government told Interfax.

"Today we prepared the team that needs to be approved, the new leaders. I will sign the decree and will be responsible for everyone. But every candidate will have responsibility as well," the press service quoted Vasilyev as saying while introducing the government.

With a few exceptions, nearly all ministers and deputy prime ministers retained their posts, according to the press service.

"It is noteworthy that two committees, the ones on veterinary medicine and viticulture and production and distribution of alcoholic beverages and alcohol-containing products, have been abolished. Their responsibilities were delegated to the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Dagestan," the press service said. "Another committee, the one on freedom of conscience and interaction with religious organizations, has been merged with the National Policy Ministry, which was headed by Tatyana Gamaley. The new ministry is called the National Policy and Religious Affairs Ministry and is headed by Gamaley. The Finance Ministry will take over the powers of the State Financial Control Service of the Republic of Dagestan," it said.

The winner of the first career competition, Kazimagomed Sefikurbanov, replaced Khanlar Pashabekov as the justice minister of Dagestan. Izumrud Mugutdinova was appointed labor and social development minister, replacing Rasul Ibragimov. Mugutdinova had previously served as Dagestan's permanent representative to the Russian president in Moscow. Ibragimov was appointed minister for tourism and Dagestani arts and crafts.
