Russia to join ASEAN Smart Cities program - Putin
SINGAPORE. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russia will join the ASEAN Smart Cities Network; Moscow will be the first to participate in this project, and the involvement of other cities will follow, President Vladimir Putin said at the Russia-ASEAN summit in Singapore.
"Moscow is our country's leader in terms of implementing digital technologies in the urban environment; it is actively cooperating with Singapore on the bilateral basis," Putin said.
"I am expecting the geography of such cooperation to mutually broaden," he said.
Putin thanked ASEAN partners for backing Russia's initiative of the adoption of a joint statement on information security.
The purpose of this document is to raise the effectiveness of the suppression of cybercrime and to elaborate unified approaches to countries' behavior on the global information space, Putin said.
