Military-technical cooperation between Russia, African countries developing successfully - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Military-technical cooperation with African countries is developing successfully, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"Military and military-technical cooperation is developing successfully. Interaction between the law enforcement agencies of Russia and African states to combat terrorism and fight illegal drug trafficking continues," Bogdanov said in the State Duma.

"Relations with African partners have intensified considerably over the past few years, and they are developing on many tracks," he said.

Trade and economic relations are also developing, Bogdanov said.

"Work is also being done to broaden trade and economic cooperation. The total trade turnover with Africa has increased by 26% year-on-year, reaching $17.5 billion," he said.
