Poroshenko and Pompeo discuss Kerch Strait incident
KYIV. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed the recent incident in the Kerch Strait and coordinated further steps of the two countries in a phone call.
"The president informed the American side about the act of military aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine in the Kerch Strait and the relevant steps taken by the Ukrainian side, including the introduction of martial law," the press service of the Ukrainian presidential administration said late on Monday.
Poroshenko said that Russia's actions are absolutely unacceptable and must face a tough response from the international community, including through tightening sanctions against Russia, the press service said.
"The sides coordinated steps to further counteract Russia's aggression against Ukraine, including in the Kerch Strait area," it said.
