MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Russian and Indian defense ministers will chair a meeting of the two countries' intergovernmental commission for military-technical cooperation in New Delhi on December 13, Chief of the General Staff of Russia's Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said.

"We attach great importance to annual meetings of the defense ministers of Russia and India as part of sessions of the intergovernmental commission for military-technical cooperation. Its next, 18th, session will be held in New Delhi on December 13," Gerasimov said at a meeting with the Chief of India's Naval Staff, Sunil Lanba, on Thursday.

"We're paying special attention to the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and relating to military and military-technical cooperation. I am confident that our meeting today will also help strengthen the friendly relations between the Defense Ministries of our countries," he said.

A key component of bilateral interaction is regular joint military exercises and talks between the general staffs of the two countries, Gerasimov said.
