LPR militia says shot down Ukrainian spy drone
LUHANSK. Dec 3 (Interfax) - The people's militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducting aerial reconnaissance near the village of Zhelobok, militia spokesperson Yakov Osadchiy said.
"Yesterday, at around 3:25 p.m., an air observation crew from a LPR people's militia unit detected and downed a UAV of the commercial type Phantom," Osadchiy said.
The militia is now examining pictures and footage of its flight over Ukrainian military positions in Donbas, he said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been using UAVs to reconnoiter LPR positions near the contact line in Donbas more intensively, he said.
