Russian Armed Forces ready to confront high-tech enemy - Shoigu
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Armed Forces are ready to confront a high-tech enemy, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in a teleconference on Tuesday.
"The supreme commander-in-chief was briefed on progress in the Russian Armed Forces' development, and their capacity to ensure national defense and to confront a high-tech enemy," Shoigu said, speaking of Russian President Vladimir Putin's Sochi meetings with representatives of the armed forces and defense enterprises.
The meetings addressed the implementation of government defense orders, including preliminary results of 2018, he said.
"Emphasis was put on research-and-development projects and the delivery of new weapons, and military and special hardware," Shoigu said.
