Russia destroys over 26,000 tonnes of sanctioned food since August 6, 2015 - watchdog
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Russia has destroyed about 26,349 tonnes of food products imported to Russia in violation of the food embargo since August 6, 2015, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported.
Some 24,627 tonnes of contraband food have been seized. Most of it - 25,563 tonnes - consists of plant-based products. About 1,100 tonnes of animal-based products have been seized.
