Russian embassy to Slovakia declines to comment on diplomat's expulsion
MOSCOW. Dec 5 (Interfax) - The Russian embassy to Slovakia has declined to comment on reports that Slovakia has expelled a Russian diplomat for intelligence gathering activities.
"We're not commenting on this," an embassy spokesperson told Interfax on Wednesday.
There have been media reports in Slovakia that the authorities expelled a Russian diplomat after receiving evidence that he was collecting intelligence.
According to the reports, Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini said the incident occurred at the end of November. The diplomat was told on November 22 to leave Slovak territory, which he did within 48 hours.
Bratislava said the diplomat was collecting classified information about both Slovakia and NATO.
