Vienna interested in Nord Stream 2 project - parliamentary speaker
MOSCOW. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Austria is interested in developing economic contacts with Russia, including in the context of the Nord Stream 2 project, Wolfgang Sobotka, the president of the National Council, the lower chamber of the Austrian parliament, said on Wednesday.
"Russia is among the European Union's most important partners in terms of gas feedstock deliveries today. We are also interested in the Nord Stream 2 project," as it may "provide more stability and security to the European Union,"Sobotka said at a plenary session of the Russian State Duma.
Tourism is another important aspect of Russian-Austrian economic relations, he said.
