Venezuelan defense minister praises Russia's aid in building up its Armed Forces

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia has helped Venezuela increase the combat capacity of its national Armed Forces, as they can maintain peace and order in their home country, Defense Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela General-in-chief Vladimir Padrino Lopez told reporters following the talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu on Thursday.

"Presently, the Venezuelan Armed Forces were elevated to the proper level, and military service in them is quite prestigious, All of this has been done thanks to Russia's support, too," Padrino Lopez said in reply to a question from Interfax.

"At this stage the level of training of the Venezuelan Armed Forces complies with the modern doctrine, and they are ready to maintain peace and order in their home country," he said.
