EAEU might get own payment system
ST. PETERSBURG. Dec 7 (Interfax) - The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is proposing to create a payment system for countries in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
"There is an initiative to establish a payment system and to conduct mutual payments. This is one of the initiatives being discussed by the commission today," EEC Chairman Tigran Sargsyan told reporters.
The EEC board will return to discussing a common financial market after the central banks of member nations complete work on this concept, he said.
"The final version will be heard at a meeting of the intergovernmental council," Sargsyan said.
