Russia-NATO meeting in Baku demonstrates confidence in Azerbaijan - Foreign Ministry
BAKU. Dec 12 (Interfax) - A meeting between Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Curtis Scaparrotti organized in Baku demonstrates deep confidence in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told the press on Wednesday.
"Azerbaijan and Russia are strategic partners. Relations between Baku and Washington are also strategic. The fact that Azerbaijan has been chosen as the venue for holding such high-level meetings and discussing important matters demonstrates trust of each side," Khalafov said.
As reported earlier, Gerasimov and Scaparrotti are due to meet in Baku on December 12.
