Russian Olympic Committee head sure Russian team to compete under national flag, anthem in 2020
MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) is working hard to enhance the country's anti-doping culture to enable Russian athletes to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo without any restrictions, ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov said at a press conference on Wednesday.
"We are working constantly to enhance the anti-doping culture and education, including with young Olympians. These steps will enable our athletes to compete in the next Olympic Games with a full status," Pozdnyakov said.
Russian athletes competed with a neutral status in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, meaning that their uniforms did not bear any national symbols, the Russian anthem was not played, and the Russian flag was not raised when they won competitions.
