Russia boosts car production 18.4% in Nov, 15.1% in 11M - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russian car production grew 18.4% year-on-year in November 2018, and rose 15.1% year-on-year to 1.4 million units in January-November, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Car production in November was 1.7% higher than in October 2018.
Truck production fell 14.3% year-on-year in November, as in October, and fell 2.8% in 11M to 140,000 units. Output in November was down 7.3% from October 2018.
Bus production was up 85.2% year-on-year in November and rose 3.1% compared to October 2018, and was up 16% in 11M to 27,000.
Production of car bodies rose 10.8% year-on-year in November but was down 2.9% from October 2018, rising 23.4% to 233,000 units in January-November.
Production of internal combustion engines rose 17.3% year-on-year in November and was down 7.6% from October 2018, rising 19.4% to 333,000 units in January-November.
The main car manufacturers in Russia are Avtovaz , Sollers Group (UAZ), Kaliningrad-based Avtotor, Renault's Moscow plant, Hyundai's St Petersburg plant, Nissan's St Petersburg plant; and truck-makers Kamaz and GAZ Group .
