Tajikistan calls for coordinated effort on Afghanistan at UNSC
DUSHANBE. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Tajik Ambassador to the United Nations Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov has called for coordinating efforts and underlined Dushanbe's readiness to promote the Afghan settlement process at a UN Security Council meeting dedicated to Afghanistan, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Tajik diplomat described terrorism, drug trafficking, and transborder crime as key threats to the region.
Tajikistan is ready to promote regional cooperation and help restore peace and stability in Afghanistan, the ministry website quoted Mahmadaminov as saying.
