Pashinyan says U.S. not blackmailing Armenia

YEREVAN. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Acting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says he does not know what the Russian side is referring when it talks about pressure exerted by the United States on Armenia.

"Frankly speaking, I also wonder what pressure and blackmail were being referred to. I will try to ask my Russian colleagues about the basis of this information. Armenia pursues an independent policy and will continue doing so," Pashinyan told reporters on Wednesday.

Russian Deputy Foreign Ministr Grigory Karasin told reporters earlier that Moscow expects the new Armenian leadership to resist the U.S.'s pressure and blackmail.
