Pakistani foreign minister: Moscow format for Afghan settlement process is very important
MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi has praised the importance of the Moscow format for an Afghan settlement process and Moscow's and Washington's involvement in settling the crisis in this country.
"Let me thank you for your resolve and for the successful conclusion of the Moscow format for Afghanistan, which has been very important for us. This is a very important format," Qureshi said.
"Pakistan has pointed out in its contacts with the United States that Moscow and Washington should be part of a solution to the crisis in Afghanistan if we want durable peace to be established in this country," he said.
Qureshi described Russia as an important partner for Pakistan.
"Moscow plays an important role in promoting peace and reconciliation in our region. Russia does everything necessary and is concerned about the way the regional security situation is developing," he said.
