Slutsky calls Kyiv's threats 'New Year scares'

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Kyiv will hardly use military force against Donbas, State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Leonid Slutsky said at a press conference at Parlamentskaya Gazeta on Wednesday.

"I do not think we should talk about any real military actions," Slutsky said.

Slutsky called against fearing military threats of Ukraine. "They are the usual New Year scares," he said.

Martial law declared by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is coming to an end, but "the smell of chemical weapons is in the air," he said.

The concentration of forces on the Donbas border is also disquieting, Slutsky said.
