Ukrainian sailors are illegal border-crossers, not POWs - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - There are no Ukrainian POWs in Russia and the Ukrainian sailors detained after the incident in the Kerch Strait on November 25 are implicated in a case involving a violation of the Russian state border, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
During a meeting with Peskov on Friday, journalists reminded to him about the earlier statement made by the Ukrainian sailors saying they are POWs and refuse to testify. Peskov was asked what he thinks about the fact that there are Ukrainian POWs in Russia.
"There are no Ukrainian POWs on the territory of Russia, we are talking about a case that is investigated in connection with the violation of the Russian state border by foreign citizens," Peskov said.
