Nazarbayev to answer question about early presidential election in Kazakhstan in evening interview
ASTANA. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will answer questions about the possibility of an early election in an interview with Kazakh journalists on Friday evening.
"A presidential election, in December? What are we talking about?" Nazarbayev said in a preview of the interview published on the presidential press service's pages on social media.
The full interview of the Kazakh leader will be broadcast on Kazakh television channels at 9:30 p.m. Astana time on Friday.
The presidential press service said on Thursday that during the meeting with journalists, Nazarbayev took stock of important events, which had happened in the country in 2018, and answered questions of members of domestic media.
In particular, the Kazakh president told reporters about main result of the country's socioeconomic development, pointing out the importance of continuing to implement planned reforms and modernization programs.
The head of the state also highlighted Kazakhstan's key achievements in the foreign policy, commented on recent personnel reshuffles, and addressed the Foreign Ministry's new tasks.
Additionally, journalists asked Nazarbayev personal questions.
