Over 160 DPR residents killed in hostilities in 2018, about 5,000 killed since start of crisis - ombudsman

DONETSK. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Over 160 people were killed in hostilities in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in 2018 and over 300 others injured, a spokesman of the office of the DPR's human rights commissioner, Darya Morozova, told reporters on Friday.

"A total of 161 people in the DPR were killed between January 1 and December 27, and 310 were injured due to Ukrainian armed aggression," the spokesman said.

He did not clarify how many soldiers and how many civilians were killed.

A total of 4,728 people have been killed in the DPR since the beginning of the armed crisis in 2014, the spokesman said.
