Lukoil repurchases 1.7% of shares since start of buyback

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Lukoil subsidiary Lukoil Securities acquired 372,355 shares in the oil company under its buyback program in the period from December 24-28, comprising 0.05% of charter capital, as well as 371,255 American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), also 0.05%, the company said in a statement.

An overall four ADR transactions were carried out at an average price of $71.84 per receipt, along with two share deals at an average price of 4,945.64 rubles per share.

Since the start of the buyback, 8,857,477 shares totaling 1.18% of the issuer's charter capital and 3,882,265 ADRs comprising 0.52% of charter capital have been repurchased.

A total of $940.2 million has been spent on the program.

Lukoil announced the program to buy back shares and depositary receipts on the open market for up to $3 billion on September 3. The program runs from September 3, 2018 to December 30, 2022.
