Up to 380 Kazakh citizens with some 500 children may now be in conflict zones in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan - National Security Committee
ASTANA. Jan 10 (Interfax) - Nearly 400 Kazakh citizens may now be present in the conflict areas in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, the director of the Kazakh National Security Committee's department, Bakhytbek Rakhymberdiyev, said at a press briefing in Astana on Thursday.
"According to our estimates, some 370-380 of our citizens are in all of the conflict zones abroad today. They include more than two-thirds of women with 400-500 young children," he said, adding that these "figures are not accurate."
