OppenheimerFunds boosts Yandex stake to 6.41%

MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - The Oppenheimer family of investment funds has increased its stake in Russian internet company Yandex to 6.41%, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to OppenheimerFunds materials, the funds owned 18.365 million Yandex shares as of December 31, 2018.

Yandex closed trading in the U.S. at $29.55 per share on Monday so the whole OppenheimerFunds stake is worth $542.7 million.

OppenheimerFunds pulled out of Yandex entirely at the end of 2015. Prior to that they had been the largest portfolio investors in Yandex.

OppenheimerFunds, which held 36.4 million class A shares (11.48% of equity, 4.2% of votes) in Yandex at the beginning of February 2015, did not hold a single Yandex share by the end of that year.

OppenheimerFunds started investing in Yandex again in Q4 2017, buying 5.1 million shares.
