Moscow condemns Nairobi terror attack

MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - No Russian nationals have been reported among the victims of yesterday's terror attack in Nairobi, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

"According to tentative information received from the Russian embassy in Nairobi, no Russian nationals, including employees of Russian foreign missions living abroad with their family members, were reported among the casualties," the ministry said.

Russia "strongly condemns this bloody, inhumane act and expresses solidarity with the government of friendly Kenya and its fight against terrorism," it said.

"We are confident that the organizers of this cruel crime will face the punishment they deserve," it said.

"We offer our profound and sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the ministry said.

A group of militants attacked guests at the Dusit hotel in Kenya on Tuesday. Al-Shabab group (banned in Russia) has claimed responsibility.
