Men who attacked traffic police in Nalchik identified - Investigative Committee
NALCHIK. Jan 25 (Interfax) - The men who attacked traffic police in Nalchik on Thursday evening have been identified, the Investigative Committee's branch in Kabardino-Balkaria told Interfax on Friday.
"The attackers have been identified. They are four residents of Ingushetia," it said.
Four men armed with knives attacked traffic police after the officers stopped their car for an ID check in Nalchik on the evening of January 24. One policeman sustained several injuries, and the others fired service weapons at the attackers, killing two and wounding the other two. The wounded assailants were taken to a hospital, where they later died.
The Investigative Committee branch opened a criminal investigation into an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer.
