Novatek might boost LNG production plan in 2020-2021 to 70 mln by 2030
SABETTA. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Novatek will consider the issue of increasing plans for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production at its projects to 70 million tonnes from 57 million tonnes by 2030 in 2020-2021, the Russian company's CEO, Leonid Mikhelson told reporters.
Novatek's strategy to 2030 calls for putting production capacity for 57 million tonnes per year into operation by 2030. We plan to build at least six liquefaction trains and investment will total about 2.5 trillion rubles. This will provide long-term demand for equipment," Mikhelson said at a meeting on localization of LNG equipment.
"In the near future we will consider the possibility of increasing the plan for LNG production by 2030 to 70 million tonnes per year," Mikhelson said.
