Fur coat stolen from Tretyakov cloakroom at same time as Kuindzhi painting, may have been diversion - director

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - The theft of a fur coat from the Tretyakov Gallery cloakroom at the moment a painting by Arkhip Kuindzhi was stolen was likely to have been a diversionary maneuver, State Tretyakov Gallery Director Zelfira Tregulova said at a briefing on Monday.

"As to the fur coat. Yes, a fur coat was stolen at that moment. I am not an investigator, so I can't draw any conclusions about diversionary maneuvers, but it does not look like a coincidence," Tregulova said.
