Russian Museum not ending cooperation with Tretyakov Gallery following Kuindzhi theft - Tregulova

MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Reports that the Russian Museum has canceled exhibitions or refused to lend works of art to the State Tretyakov Gallery are false, the director of the latter, Zelfira Tregulova, said.

"I have been in constant contact with the Russian Museum for the past 17 hours and during this time have not heard anything about refusals to give any paintings to the Tretyakov Gallery," Tregulova told reporters on Monday.

The theft of the Arkhip Kuindzhi painting "Ai Petri. Crimea" will not have any impact on contacts between the museums, she said.

The Tretyakov Gallery is also planning an Ilya Repin exhibition in which the Russian Museum is expected to take part.
