Rosneft boosts petroleum product sales at filling stations 16% in 2018 to 13.57 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - Rosneft has boosted retail sales of fuel 16% in 2018, the oil major said in a statement.

According to 2017 reporting, retail sales of petroleum products totaled 11.7 million tonnes, indicating growth to 13.57 million tonnes in 2018.

Sales volume growth in the previous year was prompted by active measures aimed at attracting contractors, expanding the retail chain's inventory and more developed non-fuel offerings.

"Revenue from sales of associated goods at Rosneft filling stations increased 6% in the previous year, amid an expansion of cafe inventory and measures aimed at boosting sales efficiency, including staff training and motivation, implementation of unified inventory processing, pricing and promotion of goods and services," the statement said.

Rosneft has Russia's largest network of filling stations with 2,900 locations.

Rosneft has also boosted wholesale shipments of motor fuel to the Russian market by 5% in 2018 to 28.7 million tonnes.

Rosneft sold 5.6 million tonnes of fuel via the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) in 2018, 43% of overall sales in the exchange. The company sold 22.9% of gasoline compared to a required level of 10% and 8.9% of diesel fuel compared to a required level of 5%.
