Sonatrach, Gazprom discussed two projects in Algeria, commercial offers being drafted - Novak

MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Sonatrach and Gazprom International, the operator of Gazprom's overseas projects, have been discussing the implementation of two joint projects in Algeria, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said during a session of the Russian-Algerian intergovernmental commission.

"The company has, following geological study, expressed an interest in developing the fields. At present, commercial offers for these projects are being drafted. We discussed in the framework of the intergovernmental commission the issue of putting the conditions in place for these projects to be carried out, including the possibility for extra time to submit commercial offers," he said.

Novak said he was referring to two oil and gas condensate projects. The development of another two oil fields in Algeria was not deemed to be feasible. A ministry representative said Gazprom had decided not to proceed with the Zemlet Er-Rekkeb and Zemlet Er- Rekkeb Nord projects.
