Russia to try to persuade U.S. to preserve INF Treaty - Ryabkov
MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Russia will try to persuade the United States to preserve the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Rossiya 24 (VGTRK) television.
U.S. officials often "repeat their earlier statements," Ryabkov said.
"As they say, it's an off-topic essay. There is simply no response to some of our questions. This is a hard discussion, but we will try to get through to them nonetheless," he said.
He complained that the dialogue with the United States has been peculiar recently. "This is not a dialogue like you and I are having, when an answer follows a question and vice-versa and there is a discussion and an exchange of opinions," Ryabkov said.
