Medvedev calls on colleagues in EAEU not to delay ratification of trade agreements with China, Iran

ALMATY. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called on the EAEU countries to speed up the ratification of some multilateral agreements reached in the association.

"I would also ask our colleagues to speed up the ratification of the agreement on the labelling of goods with identification means in the Eurasian Union, which was signed last year," he said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty.

The EAEU signed trade agreements with China and Iran in 2018, Medvedev said.

"The Russian Federation ratified that document last year. We would also ask our colleagues to speed up the intrastate procedures. It is important that these documents start working in the first half of this year," the prime minister said.

Medvedev also said it is necessary to continue working on signing free trade agreements with Singapore, Serbia, Egypt, and Israel and start similar talks with India.
