Bogdanov, Egyptian ambassador discuss settling crises in Middle East, North Africa - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 1 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov and Egyptian Ambassador in Moscow Ihab Nasr have discussed the situation in Syria.
"During the conversation, the parties have had a confidential exchange of views on the key items of the regional agenda, including the situation in Syria, as well as the issues of the Middle Eastern settlement. Special emphasis was placed on the further strengthening of Russian-Egyptian interaction in order to facilitate the political settlement of crises in the Middle East and North Africa," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
"Some practical aspects of preparations to host the Russian-African summit in Russia in light of Egypt's chairing the African Union in 2019 were also addressed," the ministry said.
