Belarus to increase number of border guards for security reasons - Lukashenko
MINSK. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Belarus has decided to increase the number of border guards, President Alexander Lukashenko said.
"Taking into consideration growth in negative factors related to illegal migration, drug trafficking, and smuggling, especially of arms, the State Border Committee has been instructed to increase its staff numbers to the necessary size. This is an unprecedented step, but national security is a critical factor," Lukashenko said while approving border security measures for 2019.
