Saakashvili to be jailed if he returns to Georgia - parliamentary speaker
TBILISI. Feb 4 (Interfax) - If former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili returns to Georgia, he will be immediately arrested, parliamentary speaker Irakly Kobakhidze said.
"If Saakashvili comes to Georgia, he will be met by a reformed penitentiary system, which has radically changed since 2012," Kobakhidze told journalists on Monday, commenting on Saakashvili's statement that he plans to return to Georgia and join opposition protests.
Saakashvili had said on Rustavi-2 television that if he got the chance to travel freely in Georgia for 72 hours, there would be a change of regime.
