FIDE, Yugra Chess Federation sign agreement to hold World Cup 2019 in Khanty-Mansiysk

MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - World Chess Federation (FIDE) President Arkady Dvorkovich and Yugra Chess Federation President Vasily Filipenko have signed an agreement to hold the Chess World Cup 2019 in Russia's Khanty-Mansiysk, FIDE's press service said on Tuesday.

Khanty-Mansiysk will host the competition from September 9 - October 4. The tournament will have a prize pool of $1.6 million. The capital of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District (Yugra) will host the Chess World Cup for the fifth time.
