Russian Security Council experts say 'hybrid threats' from Western countries growing

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - The West uses 'hybrid threats' that pose a danger to the sovereignty and socioeconomic development of other countries, the Russian Security Council press service said on Friday.

This issue was discussed at a meeting of the global problems and international security section of the Russian Security Council's academic council, the press service said.

"It was stressed that the use by a number of Western countries of 'hybrid threats' with the aim of causing instability inside states is a powerful destabilizing factor for the entire international community," it said.

Academic council experts discussed "ways to defend sovereignty and ensure the sustainable socioeconomic development of states amid the growth of the contemporary world's phenomenon such as 'hybrid threats'," the press service said.
