Armed Forces strengthening to remain priority for next 5 years - Poroshenko's program
KYIV. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Strengthening Ukraine's Armed Forces will remain a priority for the next five years, according to the election program of the presidential candidate and incumbent President Petro Poroshenko.
"Strengthening the Armed Forces, upgrading them, and equipping them with the latest weapons and military equipment will remain our absolute priority. Among other things, this boosts our science and industry," says the program, which was published on the website of the Central Elections Commission on Friday.
"We will complete the creation of a dense anti-missile and air defense system. The next step is radical modernization of the Ukrainian fleet and air force," it says.
The program is aimed at increasing social benefits for personnel and providing greater support to families of those involved in combat.
