Miner killed in Kuzbass mine collapse, 2 more trapped under rubble - sources
KEMEROVO. Feb 12 (Interfax) - Rock has collapsed in a mine in the Kemerovo region, a source in technical oversight bodies told Interfax.
"The rock collapsed during work in an installation chamber. One miner, unfortunately, has died," the source said.
Another source in "an emergency medical service" said that another miner was hospitalized with injuries.
"A man with injuries to his limbs has rushed in an ambulance to a medical and preventive treatment facility," the source said.
An evacuation of the entire mine was not necessary.
Another source clarified that the accident took place at the Kyrgaiskaya mine in the Kemerovo region.
"According to preliminary reports, two miners are trapped underneath the rubble," the source said.
The collapse occurred at an installation chamber at a depth of 200 meters, the source said.
A total of 60 people were in the mine.
