Patrushev accuses U.S. of illegal interference in other countries' affairs, including Syria, Venezuela

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax) - The United States illegally intervenes in the affairs of sovereign states, including Venezuela, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

"The U.S. and its allies are present in Syria illegally, they rudely interfered in the life of Libya, Iraq, Venezuela," Patrushev said in an interview with the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda.

"This is happening at a time when the U.S. itself faces domestic political contradictions that are preventing it from finding unity among the various branches of government," he said.

Asked if Russia is ready to work with the U.S., he said, "With the U.S. and others, on reciprocal and equal terms."
