Lavrov discusses arms control with the Elders at Munich Security Conference

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed strategic stability with the Elders on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Friday, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.

"The parties had a substantive exchange of opinions on a broad range of issues pertaining to arms control, nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and the strengthening of strategic stability," the ministry said.

"The Elders reaffirmed Russia's key role in the international security architecture and acknowledged our country's active efforts in the interests of finding solutions to problems that have accumulated in this sphere," it said.
