Bomb goes off near Donetsk hotel accommodating OSCE mission
DONETSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Three explosions have rocked the center of Donetsk; there are no casualties, an Interfax correspondent reported from the ground.
There are three craters in the asphalt near the 8th building of the Donetsk National Technical University, the Shakhtar Sports Complex, and the Park Inn hotel accommodating the OSCE mission.
Experts of the Interior Ministry and the Emergency Situations Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) are at work on the location.
A source in the DPR law enforcement agencies told Interfax the bombs might have been dropped from a drone.
"The main preliminary theory is that three low-yield bombs were dropped from a drone," the source said.
An electric detonator was later found on the sites of Donetsk explosions.
"Explosions of three improvised bombs wrapped up in copper foil were observed in Donetsk this morning," the DPR representative in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) told the press.
In his words, the explosions occurred 350 and 150 meters from the Park Inn hotel accommodating the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and DPR administrative buildings.
"A piece of an electric military-and-industrial detonator was found on the explosion scene. There are neither civilian casualties nor damage of civilian infrastructure," the officer said.
