Ostankino TV Tower among properties reportedly being "planted with mines" in Moscow

MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax) - A surge in reports to emergency services about shopping malls, public places, rail terminals and other sites being "planted with mines" continued in Moscow on Tuesday, a source acquainted with the situation told Interfax.

"As of 4:15 p.m., some ten shopping malls, the Cosmos hotel, the Kazansky rail terminal and the Ostankino TV Tower have been reported to be "planted with mines" in Moscow," the source said.

Calls with bomb threats were also received at the Shchuka shopping center and Moscow City Power Station No 1 (GES-1) at 8 Raushskaya Embankment after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the source said.

Earlier, a source told Interfax that more than 5,000 people had been evacuated from Moscow shopping malls after anonymous calls about bomb threats on Tuesday.
