Astana, Riyadh note importance of joint energy, oil and gas processing projects in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has discussed with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia trade and economic and investment cooperation in a telephone call, the press service for the Kazakh leader said.

"During the conversation, the heads of two states expressed interest in further strengthening and expansion of trade and economic and investment cooperation. In particular, they noted the importance of implementing joint projects in nuclear and alternative energy, as well as in oil and gas processing in Kazakhstan," it said.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the current situation on the global energy resources market, noting the important role of oil-exporting countries.

The leaders of two countries also agreed to maintain the practice of mutual visits.

The telephone call took place at the initiative of the Saudi side, the press service said.
