Zelensky leads Ukrainian presidential race - poll

KYIV. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Ukrainian showman Volodymyr Zelensky leads the top three candidates of the presidential race in the electoral sympathies of Ukrainians, followed by incumbent President Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivschyna, according to the results of a poll by the Razumkov Center in February.

According to the poll, which was published on the Razumkov Center's website on Wednesday, 17.5% of all respondents would vote for Zelensky (19% of those who intend to vote in the election). Poroshenko (13.1% and 16.8%, respectively) and Tymoshenko (11.5% and 13.8%, respectively) have approximately equal chances to reach the second round of election.

Civil Position Party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko is supported by 5.9% of all respondents and 7.3% of those who will go to the polling stations.

Yuriy Boiko, one of the leaders of the Opposition Platform - for Life, is supported by 6.3% of all respondents and 7.1% of those who will go to the polling stations, whilst leader of the Radical Party Oleh Liashko is supported by 4.3% and 4.8%, respectively. Each of the other candidates would receive less than 3% of the vote.

The nationwide survey was conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center between February 7, 2019 and February 14, 2019. Some 2,016 respondents aged over 18 years were interviewed.
