Poroshenko's election campaign 'makes its way' to UN General Assembly - Russia's Nebenzya

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya has tied Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's visit to the UN General Assembly to Ukraine's upcoming election.

"It indicates that the presidential elections are approaching in Ukraine, and President Poroshenko's presidential campaign has made its way to the [UN] General Assembly," Nebenzya said when replying to reporters' questions. Nebenzya's answers are available on the website of the Russian Permanent Mission to the UN.

The Russian envoy also said he does not find it necessary to familiarize himself with the points of Poroshenko's speech in order to guess what the Ukrainian president is going to talk about.

"The only intrigue is what theatrical stunt he is going to demonstrate to us today," he said.
