Putin: Number of crimes against teenagers in Russia growing

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - While the number of crimes committed by teenagers in Russia has been decreasing, the number of crimes related to teenagers is on the rise, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"The prevention of offences among minors is a crucial priority. A lot has been done for these measures to be more efficient and to meet modern requirements," Putin said at an Interior Ministry expanded board meeting on Thursday.

"Statistics shows that the number of crimes committed by teenagers decreased last year by 3.8%, but at the same time the number of crimes in relation to minors grew by 5% in 2018," he said.
